Two brands, one vision
Wines
Joaquim Arnaud's work finds expression in two distinct wine brands.
Joaquim Arnaud is personal creative freedom.
Arundel is continuity and origin.
One allows him to explore new regions, ideas, collaborations and ways of interpreting wine, while the other deepens his relationship with Pavia, Cabeção, the family estate, old vines and a winemaking culture rooted in the Alentejo.
They are two complementary ways of expressing the same person.

No land, no roof
The Joaquim Arnaud project was born of the freedom to create, experiment and imagine.
It is not tied to an estate, a region or a formula.
Joaquim seeks out vineyards, grape varieties, people and ideas that spark his curiosity, working alone or alongside other winemakers according to the needs of each project.
Along the way, he has had the opportunity to make wine in places where his ancestors lived, owned property or had connections, including Alenquer, Peral, Setúbal and others... For Joaquim, this meeting of the places where he creates today and those that feature in his family's past has a special meaning, strengthening a connection to the past that does not constrain his freedom, but adds memory and meaning to it.
Origin and technique matter, but neither should stand in the way of discovery, the Joaquim Arnaud brand embraces questions, brings experiences together and follows different paths to create something with an identity of its own.

A heritage with roots
If Joaquim Arnaud represents freedom, Arundel represents depth.
The brand grew out of the family's history and Joaquim's connection to the estate in the Alentejo, the name itself recalls the Arnaud family's English lineage and its historical relationship with the Earls of Arundel.
Here, place takes centre stage.
Pavia and Cabeção, old vines, dry farming, small-scale production, clay talhas, wood and time create a language of their own.
Arundel seeks to work with what the land still holds, through wines tended with care, made in limited quantities and intended to evolve, find their place at the table and make the moment memorable.
A mindful approach
Keeping a farm estate going also means taking responsibility for what is left to the next generation.
In the vineyard and across the farm, Joaquim favours practices suited to the local conditions, dry farming and minimal intervention.
Specific examples include integrating animals into estate management, avoiding agrochemicals, choosing lighter bottles and reusing boxes.
The same care is gradually extending to the choice of materials and the search for ways to reduce waste, without turning sustainability into an advertising claim.
Wine and emotion
A wine comes into its own when it is opened, discovered and shared.
For us, wine is more than its origin, its grape variety or the way it is made, it is also what it awakens in those who enjoy it, which is why we have brought this dimension to our labels, inviting people to join in and discover their own emotions. Tranquillity, inspiration, joy, nostalgia, love, harmony and enthusiasm are some of the words that have accompanied our wines, those who taste them may recognise themselves in these words, find others or simply let the wine create a memory of its own.
This same idea runs through everything we do, joy, encounters, sharing, curiosity and celebration are part of how we imagine, communicate and live our wines.
